Wow, what a weekend. On Saturday I went to my first beekeeping fieldwork session and brought home my bees. It was an incredible day. My $20 beekeeping suit worked great but it was HOT and I was dehydrated and tired (and sticky!) by the end of the day.
Here they are, all settled in and bringing back loads of nectar and pollen from all the wildflowers in bloom.
Then last night we had our spring celebration. Here I am, eating calcot
and drinking red wine from our makeshift porron.
Needless to say, this morning was a little rough, but it was worth it!
Then today (Sunday) we went and picked up our little baby boys, Hank and Diego!
Hank is the dark and handsome fellow in the foreground and Diego is the sharp little guy in the back. They already have their own very distinct personalities. Hank totally has it together and is very confident and bossy. Diego is a cuddle bug. If you sit down with them, he will immediately get in your lap for a snuggle.
And here (cue triumphant trumpets) is the before and after of our community goat barn project!
Pretty snazzy, eh? We’re feeling pretty darn pleased if we do say so ourselves.
So that’s it for now. Time to take a shower!
