As of now, in the ground (and raised beds and wine barrel planters) with organic fertilizer and chicken manure added, mulched with rice straw are:

White and purple garlic, lacinato kale (from before), 2 poblano peppers, 1 jalapeno (‘Fresno’ – extra hot). Waiting for one last pepper – a padrona – very hard to find.  In the picture below, the peppers are at the top, kale in the foreground, and the garlic are planted down the center of the bed.

2 tomatillos

Purple Cherokee tomato and jelly bean cherry tomato

Pink brandywine and roma tomatoes

Armenian and ambrosia melons (sadly the neighbor’s dog stepped on the ambrosia about 5 minutes after I planted them. Grrrr…)

squashed baby melons

Cocozelli di Napoli squash (3 plants, might cull 1 or 2)

Weeded, fertilized and mulched strawberry patch

Little finger eggplant and marketplace cucumber.

Add that to:

2 cherry trees

2 apple trees

1 peach tree

1 lemon tree

5 olive trees

1 concord grape

4 blackberry canes

herb garden with lemon thyme, regular thyme, Greek oregano, tarragon, basil, marjoram, sage, Mexican oregano, rosemary, and mint.

Three chickens (2 laying), hopefully honey by August and goat milk a year from now. I think we’re lookin’ pretty darn good!

Now, who’s ready for a shower?
